About Shihan Russ Sinclair
The Spokane branch of KARATEDO DOSHINKAN is lead by Russ Sinclair. He has been training in Karatedo since 1960. He trained at the Kanken Toyama Memorial Dojo in Tokyo, Japan in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
In 1972 he moved his family to Vienna, Austria to train with Toyama Sensei’s most accomplished student and founder of KARATEDO DOSHINKAN, Hanshi 10 Dan Isao Ichikawa and the present head of KARATEDO DOSHINKAN, Hanshi 10 Dan N. Ichikawa. He received the teacher’s titles of Renshi in 1974 and Shihan in 2013 and is currently ranked 8th degree black belt.
Russ is married and has four children. The whole family trains in traditional Japanese Budo (martial ways). He is the founder of the Systemic Health Institute, Inc., which provides patient education and self care techniques for the resolution of chronic health problems.
Karatedo training acts as a mirror and a method. As a MIRROR, it shows us our strengths and weaknesses physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. It is also a METHOD that helps us learn how to use our strengths more effectively and turn our weaknesses into strengths. This ongoing quest of self development can help us become better students, parents, spouses, business people…in short, better human beings.
Karatedo training doesn’t intend to replace your Spiritual life. We encourage people to choose a religious path. However, Karatedo training can provide an excellent adjunct to religion.
Contact Shihan Sinclair for information about how Karatedo can dramatically improve your health and your life, and for dates of beginner’s classes.
